TubeScout ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through the TubeScout Chrome extension and web dashboard, and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use TubeScout:

Email address — provided voluntarily when you create an account or upgrade to Pro.
Usage data — search queries entered in the extension (niches, keywords, channel names) to provide analysis results and maintain your search history locally.
Session tokens — generated upon login and stored locally in your browser to authenticate your account.

We do not collect browsing history, personal YouTube account data, financial information, or any data from pages other than YouTube.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the TubeScout analysis service.
To send verification codes for account login.
To manage your subscription status (Free or Pro).
To store your search history and favorites locally on your device.

3. Data Storage

Your email and subscription status are stored securely in our database hosted on Railway (PostgreSQL). Search history and favorites are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API and are never transmitted to our servers.

4. Third-Party Services

YouTube Data API v3 — used to fetch public video and channel data. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Lemon Squeezy — payment processor for Pro subscriptions. Subject to Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.
Resend — used to send transactional emails (login codes). Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data with the service providers listed above, and only as necessary to operate TubeScout.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the email below.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@tubescout.io.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the extension.
